Seasoned Adelaide designer Georgia Palmer of Georgia Guy recently released her Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Embracing simple silhouettes to suit every shape, the collection is lighter with a more feminine feel than previous collections.

Made up of 14 key pieces – many of them available in a variety of fabrics – the new range incorporates ’50s elements in a modern way via sheer fabric and ’60s-inspired shapes.

The collection, which Guy describes as “fresh, modern and simple” utilises elements of her own personal style, but is aimed mainly at meeting a broader customer base, with designs to flatter every shape.

Guy says her design process is now far more streamlined and organic than it once was, and this collection is a reflection of that.

“This collection really came together as I was pattern making and sampling,” she says. “The first time I saw it all together was the day we shot it and thankfully it worked!”

Currently focusing on seeking out interstate stockists, the Adelaide designer says finding the balance between business and creativity is important.

And of the Georgia Guy girl, Guy says she is “independent, confident and intelligent”.
