Formidable sibling design duo Rachel and Alexandra Sims from RACHELALEX have launched their Resort 2016 collection Distinct Ambiguity.
The Sydney-based contemporary womenswear label focuses on occasion wear. The Resort ’16 collection is perfect for special occasions, whether it be the spring races, summer cocktail parties or something in between.
The collection fuses elements of paper weaving, folded pleats and liquefied surfaces to evoke a sense of calmness in motion.
Teeming with bright colours, the collection has two central colour palettes. Firstly, it combines pastel pink, blue and lilac. Secondly, it consists of ink navy, contrasted against floral white and cadmium orange tones.
The collection is made up of luxurious fabrics such as tawna cotton and high-quality silks, as well as opulent and tactile embroidered panels.
Flared trousers, A-line skirts and silky dresses in a variety of lengths all help to make up this versatile and transeasonal collection.
But it’s not just the clothes that make this label stand out; it’s the story behind this label which makes it so special. Not only were both sisters over-achievers during their design studies, but they have also both worked with some of the world’s most renowned designers.
Rachel worked for London fashion houses Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou, while Alex honed her craft with Emilio de la Morena and Swash London.
We expect huge things to come from these two talented sisters. Be sure to check out the RACHELALEX Resort 2016 collection below – dropping this October.
